Wisdom begins when you trust the truth.

Pillars of Wisdom

Think trusting the truth is easy?

Jump on those bathroom scales. That simple “in your face” exercise shines an immediate spotlight on the truth you can’t ignore. Any remnant of denial is eliminated. Suddenly and painfully you realize compound interest applies to chocolate too.

Take a Hard Look at Your Debts. Add up everything you owe including credit card debt, car loans, college expenses, and mortgage. Now add up all your assets including cash (checking-savings-cds), realistic equity in your home, cash value life insurance policies, and all retirement accounts. Subtract your debts from your assets. This is your net worth and immediately shows you where you stand financially. If you’ve been living with the illusion of wealth, reality will quickly set in.

“God grant me to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” Niebuhr, The Prayer of Serenity

Wait a minute, you’re not wise yet. The pillars of wisdom are based on a foundation of strength, understanding, and focused action.

Information and facing the truth is the first step.

Now use that information to become knowledgeable about your options, concepts, and rules that are available.

Wisdom is figuring out how that knowledge fits your unique circumstances.

Trust the truth.

Make wise life choices for you and your loved ones based on your personal priorities.

Trust the truth. You are overwhelmed for a reason. Now the question is: What are you going to do about it?

You’ll be blown away when you watch the video. Watch it anyway. I’ll meet you below.
Shift Happens Video

Did you have a lightbulb moment? A flash of clarity?

So, the US Department of Labor says that 1 in 4 workers has only been at their place of employment for less than a year, and 50% of all workers are working for a company where they have been for less than 5 years.

What does that tell you about retirement and pensions?

The US Department of Labor estimates that today’s learner will have 10-14 jobs before the age of 38. And, the top 10 jobs in 2010 didn’t even exist in 2004.

What does that tell you about change?

Life happens. Whether we are ready or not. The Prayer of Serenity asks that we learn to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and gain the wisdom to know the difference.

For today … just today … what is within your control?

A lot. What you choose to:

Eat

Spend

Watch

Read

Think

Choose an attitude of success. It will transform your life. And the lives of those around you.

Using life's wisdom to concentrate on what you can change will dramatically change your life ~ physically, financially, and emotionally.

Release your mind from the chains of circumstances and believe in the power of possibilities. Shaw

Irish playwright, George Bernard Shaw, a strong advocate for women’s rights and best known for his play Pygmalion, believed:

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, make them.

Regardless of your past life circumstances, how you were raised, where you have lived, what jobs you have held, or your success with relationships, you have the ability to control your attitude and take responsibility for life’s next chapter. Playing the blame game only holds you back from living a life of fulfillment.

The Prayer of Serenity states:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Using life’s wisdom to concentrate on what you can change will dramatically change your life ~ physically, financially, and emotionally.

Shaw’s wisdom provides guidance in how your thoughts direct your actions:

Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will. You see things and you say “Why?”, but I dream things that never were and I say “Why not?”

Isn’t it time for you to allow yourself to accomplish what you want. New career? Financial security? Better health? Closer relationships?

Life is within your grasp. Follow the six step decision making process found in the Circle of Wisdom:

Awareness, Acceptance, Accountability, Action, Achievement, Assessment
