I have found a cool little desktop application that simplifies writing and styling blog posts called Windows Live Writer. And it won’t cost you a penny.

Frustrated with adding and sizing images to your WordPress blog?

Easily style your images with techniques usually reserved for tech savvy Photoshop experts when you use the simple, intuitive image editing tools provided by Live Writer to add images or full albums.

Add photo frames, reflections, or borders. Tilt, rotate, crop or add a watermark . Only your imagination will limit what you can do.

Never has it been so easy to look like a pro.

Instantly post videos to YouTube or SoapBox. Insert tables and maps. Schedule blog posts.

The one downside? You’ll spend too much time playing with all the features and not enough time writing.

This is a Windows program, but it works seemlessly with my iMac using VMFusion. Have fun!

You know that sickening feeling. All of a sudden your computer screen goes black. No matter what you do, you cannot backup data after it’s gone. No bringing your computer back to life. All your saved data – pictures, Word files, saved emails, downloadable programs and ebooks – all gone!

Prevent this from happening to you.Having learned my lesson the hard way, let me share what I learned.

I purchased an external Simpletech hard drive to backup my PC files. But then I thought, what if? What if a weather catastrophe like a tornado or thunderstorm wipes out even my external hard drive? What if there is a fire? I knew I had to look for a more secure system using an offsite data backup service.

I found it! Mozy is an online storage system and data backup service that has earned PC Magazine’s recommendation. After much research, this appears to be one of the more simple yet effective systems to use. The great thing about using an online backup solution is that no additional hardware is required. Be forewarned though. When first transferring files, it takes an extremely long time to backup online. Small price to pay for the peace of mind it provides. Find out more information about this remote online computer backup system. You’ll be glad you did.

Need Online Storage for Photos?

I almost forgot to tell you Mozy has a free program for up to 2GB of storage, a personal plan, and a business plan. If you need a place to store your personal photos, the free plan might be a great option.
