Bears are fast, deadly, and unpredictable. The first step in learning how to survive a bear attack, is Awareness.
Watch this video. If you’re like me, you’ll have to watch it several times to believe what you saw.
The wisdom of awareness often comes one minute too late. It’s easy to miss what you aren’t looking for, isn’t it?
Life is like that. We never think it is going to happen to us. Until it does. Read more
In God We Still Trust

Be cautious with those you trust. With those you follow. In whose guidance you believe. In the friendships you cultivate. In the leaders you elect.
Trust the Truth
It’s the only thing that matters.
Trust: Assured reliance on the character, strength or truth of someone or something; Basis of reliance, faith, or hope; To place confidence in; Entrusted to another.
Trust. Shattered and, in a blinding moment, truth revealed.
For those of us who have lived long enough, we have been disillusioned, betrayed, and at some point, broken. And then we healed. Removing our masks of perfection, we grew wings.
Universal principles of wisdom are your pillars of strength in times of crisis.
Truth will Never Fail You
Truth pillars are your foundation in a life of uncertainty. Fundamentals do not waiver. Returning to reality, no longer distracted by the frivolous, you will immediately understand what is important.
Faith – Family – Friends
Gain wisdom in the valley of doubt. This is your gift to share with the world. It’s time to lead.

The Fox and the Goat: Who do you trust?

Are you listening to a fox or trusted advisor?
By an unlucky chance a Fox fell into a deep well from which he could not get out. A Goat passed by shortly after and asked the Fox what he was doing down there.
“Oh, have you not heard?”said the Fox, “there is going to be a great drought, so I jumped down here in order to be sure to have water by me. Why don’t you come down too?”
The Goat thought well of this advice, and jumped down into the well. But the Fox immediately jumped on her back, and by putting his foot on her long horns managed to jump up to the edge of the well.
“Good-bye, friend,” said the Fox, “Remember next time,
Never trust the advice of a man in difficulties.” Aesop
Whose guidance are you following?
Surrounding yourself with people who all spout the same financial jargon, from newscasters, brokers and so called journalists, is dangerous to your wealth. Look for the advisor who has a fiduciary duty to watch out for your best interests. Someone who isn’t afraid to take a stand. Look for the contrarian and listen with an open mind. Get a second, unbiased, opinion. What do the experts say? Read more

To be always intending to make a new and better life but never to find time to set about it is as to put off eating and drinking and sleeping from one day to the next until you’re dead. Og Mandino
Blunt more than inspirational. But a wake up call sometimes has to be delivered abruptly. A fresh start doesn’t have to wait for new year resolutions. Begin now, before you create regrets. Think about this. Read more

On August 28, 2007 I had the pleasure of serving as the Moderator of “Women at the Top: Leadership Panel” presented by Kirsten Lino, President of CREW Greater Akron (Commercial Real Estate Women). CREW brought together four women leaders of the community to share their keys to success. Panelists included:
• Cynthia Capers, Interim Dean, College of Education, University of Akron
• Laura Culp, CPA, MT, Director of Tax, Brockman, Coats, Gedelian & Co.

These leaders openly shared with us the beliefs and path that molded their lives. As diverse as their backgrounds are, it is not surprising that they share a common outlook for achieving success. Each woman has chosen to:
